It would be really helpful if you could try building/installing 4Suite with 
the latest Python installer for Mac OSX:

http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.3/Universal-MacPython-2.4.3.dmg

I'm eager to see if the fix in CVS will work for Intel Macs.
