Topic: Electronic Commerce Body of Knowledge
The EC Institute, a national effort to develop an accreditation in electronic commerce, is in the process of drawing up a Body of Knowledge (BOK) for the industry. Several members of COECRT have been instrumental in getting this group established, and are working to further develop the BOK. Joseph D. Tinucci, the Vice Chairman of the Institute, will give an overview of the current state of the Body of Knowledge. In addition, this program will include a working session using COECRT members to further develop the BOK.
The program will be broken into the following segments:
1) Introduction to The EC Institute
2) Overview of the EC Body of Knowledge
3) Work group development of subject matter areas
4) Solicitation of feedback on the BOK from participants
If you have any opinions about what topics, techniques, and strategies are important for success in electronic commerce, bring them to this program! In addition, if you have a particular area of expertise in EC, come share your knowledge with the Institute as we develop the premier accreditation for ecommerce.
Speaker:
Joseph D. Tinucci is the President of Tinucci & Associates, Inc., a nationally known training and consulting firm in the areas of electronic payments, cash management, and electronic commerce. In addition, he is the Vice Chairman of The EC Institute, a national effort to categorize a Body of Knowledge and create an accreditation in electronic commerce. Prior to founding his consulting firm, Joe was the Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain ACH Association, the regional payments trade association serving the Rocky Mountain West, as well as the CEO of a small financial institution. Mr. Tinucci is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Denver, teaching in the Electronic Commerce certificate track of the Masters of Technology Management program.
Introduction to Electronic Commerce (EC) - 1:00 to 2:00 (just prior to User Group Meeting)
A presentation on "Introduction to Electronic Commerce" will be held from 1:00-2:00, in the same meeting room as the User Group meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview of EC and address questions and/or concerns. Come prepared with all the questions that you were afraid to ask. COECRT Board Members will lead informal discussions to enable you to gain an understanding of some of the fundamental terminology and concepts of Electronic Commerce and conducting business on the Internet. Bring your pencil, paper and loads of EC questions.
Directions to the Meeting:
The meeting will be held at the CES Education Center at Diamond Hill. It is centrally located near downtown Denver, just off the I-25 freeway. Take I-25 either North or South to exit 212B (Speer Boulevard North). Head west to the first traffic light (Zuni Street) and turn left. Proceed around the corner to the right, which becomes 26th Avenue and turn left into the complex. Visitor parking is available in Diamond Hill complex parking for visits of 2 hours or less. For longer visits, please park in the Riverside Baptist Church Guest Parking Lot, located one-half block South of Building C on Alcott Street. This meeting will be held in Building C, Suite 400.
