I think he wants backwards filter for literals, i.e. something like:

list("U.S.A.", "Nigeria", "England") |<- dc:title -> * 

Which would effectively be "return a list of the country names that are
actually used in the graph".

I agree.  Especially if we end up having some functions that can lead to
systematic generation of a list of literals.
