As with Chime, I prefer not to make this change.  As you mentioned,
precedence should be sufficient for this s/r conflict.

I'd prefer to leave it as "=".  Precedence would do the trick, or I'd
also be OK using ":=" for the other main use of =.

I really dislike this change.  I think it makes a lot more sense to add
syntax to qname predicates as functions.
